New Year, Better Healthier and Happier Just By Being You
New year health!
Forget “New Year - new you!”
Let’s stop the insanity of beginning yet another new year with resolutions and goals that only cause more anxiety for us.
I don’t know about you, but waking up on the first of a new year and feeling the pressure to be all the things, not only to myself, but also to everyone else, makes me want to crawl back into bed.
I gave up on this torture years ago and it changed my life.
Literally.
I began to pivot the way I showed up for myself on the first day of a new year at age 40 when I’d begun a journey of overhauling my mental, physical, and spiritual health.
Letting go.
What that looked like at the core was a softening and a letting go of the masculine energy that had been pushing so hard to “be” something I thought I needed to be, and to “do all the things” I needed to do.
Subsequently, this softening and letting go has allowed me the spaciousness to grow and expand, to feel more joy and peace, and to just love and accept myself.
Being “better” now looks like leaning into what I already am and doing more of it …. rather than trying to hard knuckle myself into being other.
We spend every day of the year trying to be something other than what we are, AND THEN … we start all over on day one of the next year!
It creates overwhelm and exhaustion.
I may or may not know you, but I can tell you one thing for sure, you do not need to be anything other than what you are.
In fact, all of the new year “success” you’re hoping for will come to fruition IF you are more yourself.
So, I invite you to think long and hard before you take another peek at that resolutions list about HOW YOU WANT TO FEEL about yourself and your life at the end of this year.
What makes you feel joyous? Create more of this in your life.
What makes you feel peaceful? Put yourself in more of these situations.
Who allows you to be your truest self? Surround yourself with these people.
What work gets you excited? Do more of this.
What exercise makes your body feel good? Integrate it.
Which foods support your body health? Nourish with those.
Let go of doing everything else.
Allow yourself the spaciousness to ask “what do I need”?
Listen to your intuition; it has all of the answers you’re seeking externally.
This new year, with a new mindset, will mean a new reality if you trust and integrate.
Self-worth.
You are worthy of living the life you were meant for.
